Fox News Merges with DOW, WSJ

The four-month courtship proved arduous for both sides, as several members of the Bancroft family — Dow Jones’s controlling owners — opposed Murdoch’s bid, fearing the tabloid king would wreck the integrity of the Journal and use it to further his business and political interests.

In the end, nearly two-thirds of the Bancroft family voted for the merger and the two sides agreed to create an editorial board that would act as a buffer between Murdoch and the Journal and have a say in the hiring and firing of two of the paper’s top editors.“

I hope there’s a mass exodus of the respected writers and WSJ just fuckin’ bombs. God love Rupert!
