Moment of Truth
Here are some screenshots from a machine inside Iran that’s running Haystack:
In the upcoming days we will be building out capacity of the backend network, building some tools to help us keep everything running smoothly, and getting Haystack into the right hands. We’re not there quite yet, but the light is quite bright at the end of that tunnel.
Don’t forget, we still need your help!

Nope, it doesn’t have to be a line mode browser.

I’m a Tor developer and I’m local to San Francisco. I’m interested in helping with Haystack. I noticed you’re not on IRC at the moment. Would you care to contact me?

We’re in London and would love to help with server or other tech, if you need it somewhere else in the world. Now that our trip to visit the family in Tehran seems to be off due to the liklihood of arrest at the airport, we’ve been talking about how we can get more involved in doing something.

Much appreciated Austin. Khoda omret bedeh (may you live long):)
Just a personal comment: I saw the old Shir-o-khorshid (lion and sun) symbol that used to be in our flag. I like it, except I don’t like the raised sword… it used to give me the creeps in the old days, as I associated it to the Shah’s regime’s ability to do harm. I know this is a philosophical discussion that can’t be resolved here, but symbols are important, and I, for one, object to the violent element in that symbol. Nonviolence rules!

…just to add to my last comment, my vote: if you leave the symbol in the background, as shown in your screenshots, just delete the sword. The lion staring is cautionary enough. Peace, brother, and freedom.

Great stuff Austin. I can’t wait to see it, making Iran’s firewall redundant.
P.S. I have to agree with Kaveh’s comment. We need to remember that the goal of this campaign is to restore power to our elected president, whose campaign colour was/is green.
I don’t think people in Iran would feel comfortable with having a s/w on their PC’s with shah’s “Shire Khorsid” logo in the background. Particularly the regime loves to accuse our freedom seeking people of just being a bunch of antirevolutionary monarchist.
Would it be possible to consider a different background logo? Something green, about freedom and human rights.
Thank you and wish you all the success.
